Halte morgen mein Referat über "Brooklyn", anschließend wird dann ein "Handout" verteilt.
Habe aber meistens viele Fehler in meinen Texten und hoffe mir hier jemanden zu finden der ein paar Fehler nennt und sie am besten auch gleich korrigiert.

o Brooklyn is one of 5 boroughs in NYC
o It is located in the southeast of the city at the western end of Long Island
o Brooklyn has 2 waters - The North Coast is located on the East River, the middle section of the Upper New York Bay
o Brooklyn is bordering Staten Island (in the west) and Queens (in northeast)
o Comparison: Brooklyn is 3 times larger than Verden
Population
o Brooklyn has 2.56 mill. Inhabitants and is the largest borough of NYC
o Brooklyn has a population density of 13.978 inhabitants per squarekilometres
o Comparison: Verden has a population density of 374 inhabitants per km
o 41% of all citizen were born outside the United States
o The most Immigrants are from the carribean
History
o The first European who settled to the western end of Long Island
o The Dutch West India Company founded the town Breukelen in 1646
o In 1664 New Netherland was conquered by the British. The place name Breukelen changed
o The population grew rapidly
o Reasons for this were the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825 and the Brooklyn Bridge in 1883.
o In 1898 Brooklyn became a part of NYC
Brooklyn Bridge
o The bridge over the “East River“
o The oldest and longest suspension bridges of the time
o It was a 14 Year project and was completed in 1883
o More than 600 people have worked for 14 years. Almost 30 people lost their lives while they were building this bridge
o The Brooklyn Bridge handles over 144.000 vehicles a day
o 276 meters above the water and with a weight of 14,680 tons they built the bridge over the East River in order to connect the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn together
